Little P.Eng. Engineering – Piping Stress Analysis & Seismic Support Design for Sewer BioGeneration Facilities
Little P.Eng. Engineering provides specialized piping stress analysis and seismic pipe support design for Sewer BioGeneration Facilities, wastewater treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, anaerobic digestion systems, biogas plants, and combined heat and power (CHP) facilities across the USA and Canada.
Wastewater biogas and energy-recovery facilities contain critical process piping connected to anaerobic digesters, biogas compressors, blowers, pumps, heat exchangers, boilers, flare systems, gas treatment equipment, generators, tanks, and valves. These piping systems must safely accommodate pressure, dead weight, thermal expansion, seismic loads, vibration, equipment movement, support settlement, occasional loads, and dynamic effects.
Using CAESAR II and Bentley AutoPIPE, Little P.Eng. evaluates pipe stresses, displacements, support reactions, anchor loads, nozzle loads, flange loads, thermal expansion, seismic response, wind loads, and equipment interface forces. We can support new installations, plant expansions, brownfield modifications, equipment replacements, piping reroutes, and existing system assessments.
For seismic piping design, we develop practical support and restraint solutions that protect piping while maintaining the flexibility needed for normal operation. Engineering may include pipe supports, guides, line stops, anchors, hold-downs, sway braces, seismic restraints, spring supports, snubbers, structural steel support frames, and equipment connection checks. The goal is to control movement, reduce excessive stress, protect equipment nozzles, and transfer seismic forces safely into the supporting structure.
Depending on the piping service and project requirements, evaluations may reference ASME B31.3 Process Piping, ASME B31.1 Power Piping, ASCE 7, IBC, NBCC, and project-specific owner specifications.
Our engineering support is well suited for:• Wastewater treatment facilities• Sewer biogeneration and biogas facilities• Anaerobic digestion systems• Digester gas and methane piping• Renewable natural gas (RNG) systems• Combined heat and power (CHP) plants• Cogeneration systems• Sludge and biosolids processing• Process water and utility piping• Pump, compressor, blower, and heat exchanger piping• Flare and gas treatment systems• Existing piping seismic upgrades
A reliable pipe stress analysis is more than a code check. Support locations, restraint direction, thermal flexibility, equipment nozzle loads, operating temperatures, seismic accelerations, and constructability must work together as one system. Little P.Eng. Engineering combines piping stress analysis, seismic engineering, structural support design, and practical plant experience to develop efficient, buildable solutions.
If your Sewer BioGeneration Facility, wastewater treatment plant, biogas project, or anaerobic digestion facility requires piping stress analysis, seismic bracing, pipe support engineering, or piping flexibility analysis, contact Little P.Eng.
